{"id":62139,"date":"2026-08-06T13:43:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T13:43:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/62139\/"},"modified":"2026-08-06T13:43:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T13:43:09","slug":"tan-france-star-of-netflixs-queer-eye-and-next-in-fashion-makes-furniture-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/62139\/","title":{"rendered":"Tan France, Star of Netflix&#8217;s &#8216;Queer Eye&#8217; and &#8216;Next in Fashion,&#8217; Makes Furniture Debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tMILAN \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/pop-culture\/celebrity-news\/tan-france-express-lead-stylist-1235510904\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tan France<\/a>, the star of <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/eye\/people\/mary-beth-barone-netflix-special-galaxy-brain-1239083677\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Netflix\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0\u201cQueer Eye\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cNext in Fashion,\u201d\u00a0deepened his interest in interiors\u00a0while building his dream home, a Salt Lake City Tudor estate, with his husband, Rob.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe media personality made his debut into <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/tag\/furniture\/\" id=\"auto-tag_furniture\" data-tag=\"furniture\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">furniture<\/a> after his agent received a call from Singapore-based <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/home-design\/furniture\/rh-modern-sourcebook-2026-global-design-collaborations-1239087715\/\" id=\"related_article_link_furniture\" data-tag=\"furniture\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">furniture<\/a> Castlery, he told WWD. \u201cThey agreed to let me design whatever I wanted to, as opposed to selecting new colors and fabrics [for] what they already make, which was a major plus point for me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOn Thursday, Castlery launched the Castlery x <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/tag\/tan-france\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tan-france\" data-tag=\"tan-france\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tan France<\/a> Collection,\u00a0which includes 18 pieces spanning\u00a0living, dining, lighting, rugs, decor and accessories. The line blends France\u2019s personal, multicultural perspective with Castlery\u2019s focus on craftsmanship, materiality and accessibility.\u00a0Key pieces include\u00a0the Anika table lamp in handblown glass, the Kagan sofa, Anaya tea table, Tarin side and drink tables, Rumi accent chair, Rava sideboard and TV console, and the Avan Dining Collection, along with mirrors, vases, rugs and cushions. Materials include warm oak, travertine, carved wood and New Zealand wool upholstery.\u00a0Born Tanveer Safdar, France grew up in a Pakistani Muslim household in South Yorkshire, England, and said the collection is emblematic of his background.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI wanted my multiple backgrounds to shape this collection,\u201d France said. \u201cI wanted to give it\u00a0a singular point of view that could only be from me. I think the collection looks sleek and modern, but if one looks closely enough, you\u2019ll see all of the cultural touch points within it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tElements of the line\u00a0reflect\u00a0France\u2019s combined South Asian and British heritage by referencing architectural and visual motifs common to\u00a0both\u00a0regions. The Anika table lamp and Rayan mirror, for example, reference classic South Asian\u00a0doorway arches\u00a0with their curved and scalloped shapes.\u00a0The carved solid-oak details on\u00a0the Kagan sofa and Anaya tea table are inspired by patterns found in South Asian design,\u00a0while the pieces\u2019 pillars reference\u00a0a central element of British architecture.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cLiving between cultures and countries has taught me that home isn\u2019t just somewhere you live; it\u2019s something you create, wherever you are,\u201d France said.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/wp-content\/themes\/vip\/pmc-wwd-2021\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Anaya-Rectangular-Coffee-Table-Set_2.jpeg\" alt=\"Generated image&#10;Architecture,  Building,  Coffee Table,  Couch,  Furniture,  Indoors,  Living Room,  Table\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"819\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tThe Anaya coffee table from the Castlery x <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/footwear-news\/shoe-industry-news\/allbirds-stanley-tucci-cards-on-the-table-series-1237707599\/\" id=\"related_article_link_tan-france\" data-tag=\"tan-france\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tan France<\/a> Collection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTan spoke about\u00a0his English-Tudor-inspired Salt Lake City mansion\u00a0and the aesthetic elements that define it,\u00a0including its scalloped details. \u201cIt\u2019s something that I saw dotted around so much of South Asia, but also around the U.K. on what were traditional English buildings. That was the main inspiration behind the collection,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe line will be sold through Castlery\u2019s online store in the\u00a0U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and Singapore, and in showrooms in\u00a0New York, Sydney, Brisbane and Singapore.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tCastlery was founded in 2013 by a group of friends, including\u00a0Declan Ee, a Singaporean entrepreneur and former investment banker best known as the company\u2019s cofounder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTan said the Castlery collection took two years to come to fruition.
