Minnie Driver is recovering after suffering a \u201creally bad car accident\u201d that left her with a sprained neck. <\/p>\n

Over the last eight weeks, the actress has been sharing \u201cParis Update\u201d posts on Instagram<\/a> as she films the sixth and final season of \u201cEmily in Paris\u201d for Netflix. On Thursday, Driver started the video laying horizontal in bed wearing a blue neck brace and shared, \u201cHi guys, Paris update is I\u2019m actually back in London.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI got into a really bad car accident a few days ago with my friend Ben,\u201d the Oscar-nominated actress said in an Instagram post<\/a>. \u201cAnd, we somehow walked out of it. Well, we didn\u2019t walk out of it, we crawled out of it. But we did get out of it alive. To be very clear it was not our fault.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress described the accident in full detail explaining that her car was T-boned while on a country road in the middle of France after a driver failed to stop at an intersection. Despite being shaken up by the events, the actress said she was largely \u201cfine\u201d and credited the car she was in and the 360 degree airbags for saving her and her friend\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m fine. I\u2019ve got a sprained neck and I\u2019m really in shock and sort of cry all the time but I\u2019m gonna heal and the reason that I\u2019m not dead honestly is the the car that we were driving,\u201d she said. \u201cSo while this is categorically not a car ad. Can you imagine if that\u2019s what I was doing? I want to celebrate that car. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m Minnie Driver, pun intended, I need to celebrate the car that saved us,\u201d she added. \u201cBecause we\u2019ve got families and people who love us and I am so grateful to be alive, so, Kia, you are a baller car company. You\u2019re amazing.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

She noted in the post\u2019s caption that her \u201cbrain keeps replaying the crash which is very hard but seems to be a necessary part of processing\u201d along with taking time to weep which \u201cfeels good and helpful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Driver joined the cast of Netflix\u2019s \u201cEmily in Paris\u201d in May 2025 for the show\u2019s fifth season. She plays Princess Jane, a friend of Sylvie Grateau (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) who married into a royal family. She is set to appear in Season 6. <\/p>\n
