Sajjan Jindal-owned JSW Greentech has partnered with Dassault Syst\u00e8mes to build a digital manufacturing backbone for its upcoming electric commercial vehicle plant in Maharashtra, as the JSW Group company moves to establish its presence in India\u2019s growing electric bus and truck market.<\/p>\n
Under the collaboration, JSW Greentech will deploy Dassault Syst\u00e8mes\u2019 DELMIA Apriso manufacturing execution system (MES) across its upcoming facility. The platform will connect production planning, quality control and material tracking, providing real-time operational visibility and end-to-end traceability across the plant from the beginning of production.<\/p>\n
JSW Greentech is developing a 90-acre greenfield manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, along with a fully equipped R&D centre in Pune. Established in 2024, the company is the JSW Group\u2019s foray into sustainable commercial mobility and is developing electric buses and trucks for the Indian market.<\/p>\n
The company said the digital architecture is being built into its manufacturing operations to address the quality, reliability and uptime requirements of fleet operators and public transport agencies. DELMIA Apriso is expected to provide continuity of manufacturing data by linking production execution with quality management and material tracking, reducing reliance on disconnected workflows and manual data handling during the production ramp-up.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs we build a state-of-the-art commercial EV manufacturing facility, it is imperative that we complement it with equally advanced technology systems,\u201d said Sumit Mittal, CEO, JSW Greentech Limited. He said the partnership would bring global expertise and digital capabilities into the company\u2019s manufacturing ecosystem and help create a \u201csmart, connected and future-ready\u201d operating environment for technology-led commercial vehicle manufacturing in India.<\/p>\n
JSW Greentech also highlighted sustainability in the manufacturing process, with Mittal\u2019s company seeking to combine localisation, advanced engineering and global technology partnerships as it develops its EV operations.<\/p>\n
Deepak NG, Managing Director, India, Dassault Syst\u00e8mes, said the collaboration would strengthen JSW Greentech\u2019s technology adoption and sustainable manufacturing standards. He said a connected digital backbone could help the company scale clean transportation more efficiently, while Dassault Syst\u00e8mes\u2019 virtual twin capabilities are aimed at supporting innovation, manufacturing excellence and sustainable growth in India\u2019s EV ecosystem.<\/p>\n
The partnership comes as JSW Greentech builds its electric commercial vehicle operations around localisation and digital manufacturing.
