{"id":65781,"date":"2026-08-16T07:41:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-16T07:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/65781\/"},"modified":"2026-08-16T07:41:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-16T07:41:08","slug":"iran-warns-france-against-interference-in-internal-affairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/65781\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran warns France against interference in internal affairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Iranian Intelligence Ministry on Saturday warned the French government against \u201cillegal interference\u201d in Iran\u2019s internal affairs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement on its website, the ministry said two French diplomats took part in a secret meeting in Tehran in July with suspects of a \u201cmajor case involving foreign infiltration and interference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following an investigation, it said the diplomats had \u201cextensive records of violations and behaviors in contradiction with Iran\u2019s domestic law and their diplomatic obligations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ministry stressed it will not allow foreign diplomats in Iran to engage in \u201cillegal interventionist\u201d actions, warning that any repeat of such conduct would draw \u201cfitting\u201d responses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On July 20, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said two French embassy officials had been detained and mistreated in Tehran.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement, he called the incident \u201cshocking,\u201d adding he had warned Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi that it \u201ccannot go without consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Araghchi later protested in a phone call with Barrot, saying the two French diplomats\u2019 \u201cunconventional\u201d actions \u201ccontradicted diplomatic norms and were unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Iranian Intelligence Ministry on Saturday warned the French government against \u201cillegal interference\u201d in Iran\u2019s internal affairs.
