Set in a new 30,000 square metre area designed to reflect an African savanna, it will include attractions, stores, restaurants and character interactions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAlthough no opening date was announced for the highly-anticipated area, which will be the first in Disney\u2019s global stable of immersive properties to be entirely dedicated to the big cat movie, construction is well under way at Disney Adventure World, one of two parks at the Disney\u2019s French outpost.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThe teams at Walt Disney Imagineering, Disneyland Paris and Disney Animation are hard at work bringing to life the beloved world of \u2018The Lion King,\u2019 which has captivated audiences for more than three decades,\u201d said Michel den Dulk, VP portfolio executive at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris. \u201cWe believe this epic story was also embraced thanks to its unforgettable villain, so we are excited to lift the curtain on Scar\u2019s presence in this major attraction. Thanks to an extraordinary level of detail, our guests will experience the very heart of the film\u2019s story, its emotion and thrills, in an entirely new way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/wp-content\/themes\/pmc-variety-2020\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/france\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Disneyland-Paris-Parade.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"667\" width=\"1000\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tConcept art of the new parade at Disneyland Paris (courtesy of The Walt Disney Company)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn the meantime, visitors to the Paris-adjacent resort will have other attractions to look forward to. An \u201cUp\u201d-inspired ride called Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings will open next year while in 2028 Space Mountain is set to be re-themed, returning to its original 1995 version \u201cDe la Terre \u00e0 la Lune\u201d (\u201cFrom the Earth to the Moon\u201d) based on Jules Verne\u2019s novel of the same name. (For the past ten years it has been themed to \u201cStar Wars\u201d as \u201cHyperspace Mountain.\u201d) The ride will close towards the end of next year to accommodate the update, which will see a new spin on the original steampunk theme. Steve Bramson\u2019s original score is also set to be fully remastered as part of the refurb.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAlso in 2028, for the first time since 2017 Disneyland Paris will debut a unique new daytime parade led by Mickey Mouse and friends. It will include eight new floats with beloved characters from films including \u201cAladdin,\u201d \u201cThe Princess and the Frog,\u201d \u201cRapunzel\u201d and \u201cCoco.\u201d By the time of its launch, it will have required more than 10,000 hours of research and technical development and 225 sketches of costumes, wigs and makeup.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cA new dawn of storytelling is upon us at Disneyland Paris,\u201d said Christophe Murphy, president of Disneyland Paris. \u201cFrom a vibrant daytime parade and a classic comeback for Space Mountain in Disneyland Park to the continued development of a themed area inspired by \u2018The Lion King\u2019 in Disney Adventure World, we are investing in the stories our guests love while continuing to evolve what a Disney visit can be.
