French software company Dassault Syst\u00e8mes released its first impact report on the 18th, detailing how its virtual twin technology has contributed to resource conservation and carbon emission reductions for its customers.<\/p>\n
The report summarizes the sustainability strategy outcomes achieved across Dassault Syst\u00e8mes’ own operations and its customer base as of 2025. It is structured around three pillars\u2014carbon footprint, handprint, and human capital\u2014outlining the company’s climate change response strategy and progress.<\/p>\n
Particularly noteworthy are the concrete savings cases that emerged as customers used virtual twin technology to design, test, and optimize products, operational processes, and business models.<\/p>\n
A consumer packaging customer applied virtual twin technology to reduce plastic usage by 18% and increase recycled material usage by 76%. In the manufacturing sector, one case reported that component reuse enabled 50% of parts slated for disposal to be recycled, saving $45 million (approximately 63 billion won) in costs.<\/p>\n
A wind turbine manufacturer leveraged virtual twin technology to prevent 7,995 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, while a residential construction project achieved an A++++ energy efficiency rating.<\/p>\n
Dassault Syst\u00e8mes’ own ESG metrics also showed improvement. Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 78.3% compared to 2019. Among its suppliers, 50.4% have established science-based greenhouse gas reduction targets.<\/p>\n
The report also disclosed for the first time the level of alignment between the company’s business activities and the European Union (EU) Taxonomy. A total of 42.9% of revenue was aligned with the EU Taxonomy, while 69.9% corresponded to EU Taxonomy-eligible activities.<\/p>\n
Women accounted for 41.7% of executive positions. Dassault Syst\u00e8mes stated, “We are advancing sustainability initiatives to realize our corporate purpose of harmonizing products, nature, and life.”<\/p>\n
