One year after the launch of La Beaut\u00e9 Louis Vuitton,<\/a> the famed French fashion house is introducing its first beauty collaboration \u2014 and it\u2019s between two legends. Dame Pat McGrath<\/a>, the creative director for cosmetics, and Nicolas Ghesqui\u00e8re<\/a>, current Louis Vuitton artistic director, joined forces to dream up two stunning makeup collections inspired by two iconic Monogram canvases, all to mark the 130th anniversary of the brand\u2019s ubiquitous monogram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Few fashion labels are as instantly recognizable as Louis Vuitton \u2014 and that\u2019s thanks to the monogram flower that\u2019s emblazoned on logo bags, small leather goods and all manner of accessories \u2014 the new La Beaut\u00e9 LV Crayons lip pencils are even in the shape of said flower. The two creative geniuses cooked up two new iterations of the bold print \u2014 Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge \u2014 for the collaboration.<\/p>\n

Each collection offers an all new quad eyeshadow compact, satin lipstick and \u201ctopper\u201d lip balm meant to morph hues, as well a selection of beauty accessories,<\/a> which have become synonymous with La Beaut\u00e9 Louis Vuitton.<\/p>\n

Monogram Dune offers an angelic palette of quiet luxury including beiges, dusty blue and cream. \u201cMonogram Dune is luminous and warm,\u201d says McGrath. \u201cShe moves through the world with a stealth assurance. The Monogram Infrarouge offerings are quite the opposite. Bold packaging of black and red contains mega-bold hues that command attention. Think berries, silver and plum, plus a lip topper with the makeup maven\u2019s signature intergalactic, holographic sparkle. \u201cThere is depth, drama and the kind of boldness that\u2019s completely mesmerizing,\u201d McGrath says of the range.<\/p>\n

While luxury fashion has been in the zeitgeist for the past year thanks to a revolving door of creative directors, no house has melded their fashion vision with their consumer-facing beauty extensions \u2014 until now. Though McGrath has designed the makeup for Louis Vuitton\u2019s runways for years. \u201cNicolas and I have been building looks together backstage for so many years, there\u2019s a shorthand between us: a trust and cohesive vision.
