Nearly 40 years in, Tiffany and Co<\/a>. is extending its run at the U.S. Open. The jeweler and the United States Tennis Association (USTA) have signed a multiyear extension keeping Tiffany as the official trophy partner of the U.S. Open, stretching a relationship that dates back to 1987.<\/p>\n Tiffany crafts the tournament\u2019s full trophy roster, including the men\u2019s and women\u2019s singles championship trophies, the doubles trophies, and the keepsake replicas champions take home. Each is handmade in sterling silver at Tiffany\u2019s hollowware workshop in Cumberland, R.I., where artisans rely on traditional techniques\u2014spinning, silversmithing, chasing, hand-engraving, and polishing. The 18-inch singles trophies alone take roughly six months to produce, a production timeline that underscores just how much of the partnership rests on craft rather than logo placement.<\/p>\n As part of the renewal, Tiffany will continue engraving the men\u2019s and women\u2019s singles keepsake trophies on-site immediately after each final\u2014a practice it introduced in recent years so champions can leave the grounds with their engraved trophy in hand rather than waiting for it to arrive later.<\/p>\n The jeweler will also return for a fourth consecutive year with a pop-up near Fountain Plaza at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center through Sept. 13, giving fans a closer look at how the trophies come together, including displays of the engraving tools its craftspeople use.<\/p>\n The extension comes as Tiffany, under LVMH ownership, continues to lean into its sports heritage, pairing the low-key theater of hand-craftsmanship with the high-visibility stage of a Grand Slam final.
