As a fashion designer, Siriano concedes, he sometimes needs an escape from chromatic experiments. \u201cI usually want my homes to feel more zen<\/a>. But Paris already is zen. You are already relaxed. That\u2019s why almost every room and every fixture here is in colour.\u201d Meanwhile, Siriano\u2019s lifelong love of textiles \u2013 inherited from a mother who made her own curtains, upholstery, and clothes \u2013 informs the interiors\u2019 range of lush textures.<\/p>\n

He decorates as any regular person might, buying what he likes and following his gut. \u201cI can do a modern home, but I love things that are old,\u201d he says. \u201cI\u2019m not so closed-minded. My ideas are all over the place.\u201d He populated his home with pieces purchased from second\u00adhand shops in the Marais or the city\u2019s famous puces. French and Italian treasures from the 1930s through \u201960s became an especially powerful influence.
