PARIS, Ky. \u2014\u00a0A Christmas movie is being filmed in Paris, Kentucky, bringing actors Danica McKellar and Mathew Marsden to the commonwealth as local organizers work to support the production.<\/p>\n
Shooting recently began for \u201cThe Greatest Christmas Gift,\u201d<\/a> a Great American Family production set around the holidays. McKellar and Marsden star as Hannah and Caleb, an engaged couple planning to get married around Christmas.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful movie of sacrificial love and community, the strength of a community and faith,\u201d McKellar said.<\/p>\n McKellar said the film is loosely based on \u201cThe Gift of the Magi,\u201d with the couple giving each other a Christmas gift by sacrificing something they love. She said the movie has a much happier ending than the story that inspired it.<\/p>\n Both lead actors said they have enjoyed filming in Kentucky.<\/p>\n \u201cThe people in Kentucky have been wonderful,\u201d Marsden said. \u201cYou can talk a lot about the area, but it\u2019s really the people that make the place that you go to.\u201d<\/p>\n Local organizers Betty Ann Allen of Paris-Bourbon County Tourism<\/a> and Lisa Brin of FilmLEX<\/a> said they are proud of how quickly Paris coordinated logistics for Great American Family. They said they also hope the production highlights the city\u2019s hospitality.<\/p>\n \u201cI hope they see our warmth and our charm and our friendliness,\u201d Allen said.<\/p>\n \u201cThis isn\u2019t just a one and done project,\u201d Brin said. \u201cGreat American Family is really loving the Kentucky production experience.
