Former two-division KSW champion Salahdine Parnasse makes his highly anticipated Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut against New Zealand madman Dan Hooker in the UFC Paris<\/a> main event this weekend (Sat., Sept. 5, 2026) inside Accor Arena in Paris, France.<\/p>\n For years, Parnasse was widely considered one of the best fighters in the world outside UFC. The French Lightweight could have entered the Octagon much earlier, but he wanted to be compensated properly<\/a>, and UFC was not willing to meet his asking price at the time.<\/p>\n Instead, Parnasse signed a lucrative contract to remain with longtime promotion KSW<\/a>, where he continued winning fights, collecting championships and building his reputation.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Parnasse competed at MVP MMA 1<\/a>, making his first appearance on American soil against Kenny Cross. He absolutely shined, folding Cross with a vicious body shot in the opening round.<\/p>\n Shortly afterward, UFC finally came correct with the money<\/a>, and Parnasse signed with the promotion.<\/p>\n At 28 years old and with 25 professional fights behind him, Parnasse believes everything happened exactly when it was supposed to.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to show all of my talent and everything I can do,\u201d Parnasse told UFC.com. \u201cI think it\u2019s perfect timing. I\u2019m arriving with maturity. I\u2019m 28 years old, and I have all of this baggage from fighting in other places. I have everything I need to show off in the cage.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s important to have experience and maturity when you come here. I\u2019ve had more than 25 fights outside, so I think it\u2019s really important to be able to understand your opponents and understand the game. I have a lot of finishes and a lot of knockouts, so UFC knows I\u2019m going to put on an excellent fight.\u201d<\/p>\n UFC clearly believes Parnasse is ready for the spotlight because it is giving him an extremely rare main-event assignment in his promotional debut.<\/p>\n And the promotion is not exactly handing him a soft landing.<\/p>\n
