France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions has entered into a strategic partnership with YouTube, aiming to both widen access to its public service content and combat disinformation.<\/p>\n
Aligning with the broadcaster\u2019s digital first strategy, the alliance aims to ensure its news programming can be reached on all screens in all locations. Under the agreement, thousands of hours of content will be made available online every year, shortly after being broadcast. Allowing France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions to better leverage its presence on the platform, the partnership enable France TV Publicit\u00e9 to directly market its inventory, optimising monetisation opportunities.<\/p>\n

According to France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions, more than half of viewers already consume news content via YouTube. The collaboration aims to boost awareness, consumption and reach of its programming across all environments.<\/p>\n
The partnership will include the provision of all France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions\u2019 national and local news editions as well as its flagship daily and weekly news and investigative magazines. Enhanced editorialisation of content will be delivered, with channels organised by programme and theme, while 100 per cent native original content will also be featured.<\/p>\n
In an effort to protect against misinformation and manipulated content,\u00a0YouTube will facilitate the adoption of Likeness ID, its tool for detecting AI-generated content using non-consensual image or identities.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the announcement, Delphine Ernotte Cunci, chairwoman and CEO of France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions, said, \u201cThis strategic partnership with YouTube accelerates France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions\u2019 \u2018streaming first\u2019 strategy.
