A dazzling line-up of tractors will light up part of Essex when they take to the roads around the county this winter. The Essex Illuminated Christmas Charity Tractor Run will return to the streets this December.
A bright run of tractors decorated in Christmas lights will take to the roads around the county. Locals can come and see the decorated tractors lined up at Crawfords Group in Writtle, near Chelmsford, on December 5.
They will then set off on a 21.8-mile route from Writtle and through the surrounding Essex countryside and local areas.
The route follows the A414 before travelling via Stondon Massey and Blackmore with the illuminated tractors eventually passing through Writtle village green at approximately 5.30pm before returning to Crawfords where there will be another chance to see the illuminated machines together.
Residents do not have to visit the depot to enjoy the event. Spectators can find a safe viewing point along the tractor run route and watch the large convoy pass-by.
The annual event has raised thousands of pounds for charities over the years. In 2024 the event fundraised more than £14,600 alone for Essex and Herts Air Ambulance with more than 110 tractors taking part.
A statement shared by Crawfords Group says: “Get ready to light up Essex this Christmas! The Essex Illuminated Christmas Charity Tractor Run returns to Crawfords Group in Writtle on Saturday 5th December 2026.
Once again, a fantastic line-up of tractors decorated in Christmas lights will take to the roads around Essex, creating a festive spectacle for families and local communities along the route.
Organised by the Lyon family and hosted at our Crawfords Writtle depot near Chelmsford, the popular charity tractor run will bring together the agricultural community and local residents for an evening of festive fun while raising money for a great cause.”
