Saxon Sound, Rampage and more confirmed at The Steelyard
Following last year’s roadblock success at E1, City Splash is bringing its Carnival Warm-Up Party to The Steelyard on Fri 28th August, transforming the venue’s railway arches into a celebration of Caribbean music and culture on the final Friday before Europe’s biggest street festival. Running 11pm until 6am, it’s a Dancehall, Reggae, Soca and Bashment affair, and given last year sold out in record time, this one won’t hang around either.
Heading up the line-up are two legends of UK sound system culture: South London’s Saxon Sound, who’ve helped launch generations of reggae and dancehall talent, and Rampage Sound, renowned for their high-energy Carnival sets and decades-long contribution to Black British music. They’re joined by DJ Nate & English Fire, Pure Vibes Ent, Loyal Squad, Izzy Bossy, Triple M, Shayna Marie, Monikah Lee, Jada Pink, Nay Honey, Vybz-SR and Tuggzy Onpoint, with more special guests to be announced. Expect heavyweight dubplates, timeless reggae selections and the latest bashment and soca anthems – Carnival energy, a weekend early.
