The inaugural LOLA* (London x Los Angeles) Festival has been announced.<\/p>\n
Upstairs at the Gatehouse, in association with in-house company Chromolume and writer-performer Sandra Tsing Loh, announces the very first LOLA Festival: five days of new American comedy, cabaret, storytelling, and theatre-making, coming to the Highgate theatre, this September.<\/p>\n
LOLA is a short, sharp comedy festival in London with the spirit of LA poured over it: works-in-progress, new writing, cabaret, storytelling, live masterclasses, and a run of you-had-to-be-there one-off events.<\/p>\n
The varied programme runs from the free-wheeling to the star-studded, highlights include:<\/p>\n
MADWOMEN OF THE WEST \u2013 Stockard Channing joins Brooke Adams and Melanie Mayron for the first ever \u2018cocktail concert\u2019 staging of Sandra Tsing Loh\u2019s hit comedy. Julian Fleisher directs, and a surprise guest completes the company.<\/p>\n
STORYTIME WITH BROOKE AND TONY \u2013 Brooke Adams and Tony Shalhoub, married 37 years, on Hollywood royalty, drunken behaviour, and the highs and lows of a showbusiness family.<\/p>\n
GRIEF BACON PYJAMA PARTY \u2013 Melanie Mayron and Sandra Tsing Loh\u2019s sold-out Los Angeles pyjama party transfers to London for the first time.<\/p>\n
LOLA LIVE! \u2013 Comic cold readings, surprise performances, and audience participation from a mix of London and LA performers.<\/p>\n
THEATRE LAB \u2013 Michael Kostroff makes his London stage debut with a four-session lab for theatre practitioners, opening with his cult AUDITION PSYCH masterclass.<\/p>\n
LOLA Festival will take place at Upstairs at the Gatehouse, London, running from 16th \u2013 20th September 2026, with tickets on sale now.<\/p>\n
