{"id":20122,"date":"2026-09-03T17:03:19","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T17:03:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/gbr\/london\/20122\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T17:03:19","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T17:03:19","slug":"hillingdon-council-enters-agreement-with-wealdstone-fc-over-land-for-new-stadium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/gbr\/london\/20122\/","title":{"rendered":"HILLINGDON COUNCIL ENTERS AGREEMENT WITH WEALDSTONE FC OVER LAND FOR NEW STADIUM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/gbr\/london\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/38cbd8_727862c9a74e4205ba606eaddf374e82~mv2.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:100%;height:100%;object-fit:cover;object-position:50% 50%;max-width:100%;position:absolute;left:0;top:0\" data-pin-url=\"https:\/\/www.wealdstone-fc.com\/post\/hillingdon-council-enters-agreement-with-wealdstone-fc-over-land-for-new-stadium\" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/38cbd8_727862c9a74e4205ba606eaddf374e82~mv2.png\/v1\/fill\/w_1080,h_652,al_c,q_90\/38cbd8_727862c9a74e4205ba606eaddf374e82~mv2.png\" draggable=\"false\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"vVP7K aoX-4 K3gHo gR5w2\" dir=\"auto\" id=\"viewer-lbrlj196\" tabindex=\"-1\">Hillingdon Council has granted a three-year exclusivity agreement with Wealdstone Football Club so we can undertake exploratory investigations and apply for planning permission to create a new stadium and training facilities in the borough.<\/p>\n<p class=\"vVP7K aoX-4 K3gHo gR5w2\" dir=\"auto\" id=\"viewer-dfnj0203\" tabindex=\"-1\">Last night, (Thursday 13 March), the council&#8217;s Cabinet authorised the signing of the agreement in principle with the club which relates to two vacant plots of land &#8211; the first adjacent to the former Master Brewer site on Western Avenue and the second, Gutteridge Farm &#8211; so the club can further develop their proposals, secure funding and a development partner, and obtain the necessary planning consent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"vVP7K aoX-4 _3OOkm gR5w2\" dir=\"auto\" id=\"viewer-9mv56207\" tabindex=\"-1\">The council will receive a small annual fee for the land throughout the exclusivity agreement with the club.<\/p>\n<p class=\"vVP7K aoX-4 _3OOkm gR5w2\" dir=\"auto\" id=\"viewer-g58eo209\" tabindex=\"-1\">In November 2023, the council granted Wealdstone FC permission to undertake initial feasibility studies of the sites and committed to not pursue any other potential projects for an initial six-month period. This was extended by six months after the club evidenced it was progressing with the proposals.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"vVP7K aoX-4 _3OOkm gR5w2\" dir=\"auto\" id=\"viewer-8kxon211\" tabindex=\"-1\">Cllr Jonathan Bianco, Hillingdon Council&#8217;s Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and Property, said: &#8220;We&#8217;re proud to support our local sports clubs, and this agreement will allow the club to explore opportunities to bring these vacant spaces back into use.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"vVP7K aoX-4 _3OOkm gR5w2\" dir=\"auto\" id=\"viewer-gc4ul213\" tabindex=\"-1\">&#8220;A new stadium and the associated facilities could provide many benefits to the borough, and I look forward to seeing the proposals as they take shape.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"vVP7K aoX-4 _3OOkm gR5w2\" dir=\"auto\" id=\"viewer-isejh215\" tabindex=\"-1\">Acting Chairman of Wealdstone FC, Dominic Whyley, said: &#8220;We are absolutely delighted to have been granted this exclusivity agreement to facilitate the Club&#8217;s need to find a new, permanent home which is vital to securing its future and all its ancillary community activities.
