Back in March there had been speculation over what the future would hold for Native Instruments. After entering into preliminary insolvency proceedings at the beginning of the year, the well-known music software brand has officially announced they are now owned by US conglomerate inMusic. Also in their profile are companies such as Akai Professional, Moog Music, Denon DJ, Numark, Rane, M-Audio.
In their official blog post, Native Instruments CEO, Nick Williams, assures the public that all of the softwares and services Native Instruments supplies will continue uninterrupted.
In their statement, Williams cites inMusic’s CEO, Jack O’Donnell, who says, “Our commitment is simple: continued investment across all brands and product lines, and a long-term focus on innovation that serves creators at every level. The tools you rely on today will keep working, and the tools you will rely on tomorrow are actively being built.”
So good news, at least for now, for the musicians and creators using Native Instruments’ software – it’s still there and should continue to be there. But this is certainly another strike against Berlin’s industry.
