CVP, one of Europe’s largest professional video and broadcast suppliers and a long-time sponsor and affiliate partner of CineD, is launching a dedicated DACH operation covering Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, bringing its sales, support, and repair services closer to the German-speaking production market.
CVP has been our European retail partner for years, just as B&H serves as our US-based partner. Across our articles and video coverage, we offer buy links to products available at both retailers so our readers can quickly find and purchase the gear we review, test, and cover. With CineD headquartered in Austria, this expansion into the DACH region hits particularly close to home for us.
The move builds on CVP’s existing European headquarters in Belgium, which opened in 2021 as the company’s first response to post-Brexit trade friction for EU customers. With this latest step, CVP is deepening its commitment to mainland Europe by targeting the entire German-speaking market directly.
A familiar face from the industry
René van der Reiden, Managing Director of CVP Europe, has appointed Marco Müller as Sales Director to lead the new DACH operation. Müller spent nearly 20 years in the film and broadcast industry, initially working as a 1st AC on productions including Bergdoktor and Rosamunde Pilcher before moving into a 2nd unit camera operator role. Since 2016, he has been on the commercial side, most recently serving as Senior Key Account Manager at BPM (later Teltec), where he specialized in drama, documentary, and corporate production clients.
“There is a clear gap in the German market, and with CVP, my team and I are excited to bring our expertise to help clients deliver successful projects without having to worry about the technical side,” Müller said.

The new operation promises the same infrastructure CVP has built elsewhere: extensive stock, fast delivery, Pro Repairs & Engineering capabilities, transparent landed costs, and local sales support backed by CVP’s international network. For filmmakers and production companies across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, that combination of local presence and global supply chain could prove attractive, particularly for those who need reliable, fast turnaround on both new gear and servicing.
One area CVP is specifically highlighting is its Used Marketplace and Auctions platform. The ability to buy and sell pre-owned equipment both locally and internationally is something CVP sees as an underserved niche within the German-speaking market. For productions looking to stretch budgets or offload older inventory, a well-run used gear platform with proper engineering checks behind it is a genuine value-add.
A growing European strategy
CVP’s European Managing Director René van der Reiden framed the expansion as part of a broader mission. “At CVP, our mission is to empower creators at every level, from independent operators to major production companies, by providing the infrastructure, expertise, and international support they need,” he said.
The DACH region collectively represents one of Europe’s largest markets for film, television, and commercial production. Having a local team that understands the regulatory landscapes, speaks the language, and can offer same-region logistics across all three countries is a practical advantage that pure UK-based ordering cannot match, even with the Belgium warehouse already in play.
Full disclosure: when you use CVP or B&H buy links in our articles and videos to purchase gear, CineD earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. It is one of the ways we keep the lights on and continue delivering independent reviews, Lab Tests, and industry coverage.
As an Austria-based publication, we are curious to see how this plays out in our own backyard. Are you based in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, and have you ordered from CVP before? Does a dedicated DACH team change the equation for you? Don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments below!
