LEGO is helping BMW celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original M3. The two companies teamed up on a LEGO BMW M3 E30 kit with a special M-themed livery that’s part of the Speed Champions collection.
The cars in the Speed Champions collection are designed to be accessible to a wide audience; they’re a step below the bigger and more complicated kits designed for adults. The E30 is assigned kit number 77263 in the LEGO catalog, and it stretches about seven inches long and three inches wide when built.
It’s toy-sized, then, but the 358-piece kit is recognizable as an E30 thanks to four round lights positioned on either side of kidney grilles, horizontal rear lights, and a trunk-mounted spoiler. The overall silhouette is pretty accurate, too, which isn’t a huge surprise: The original M3 was relatively LEGO-like to begin with.

The black, blue, red, and white livery was created specifically for the kit to celebrate 40 years of the first M3. It’s inspired by BMW M’s colors, and it also appears on the Minifigure that’s included in the kit. LEGO often draws inspiration from real cars when it chooses a livery for its Speed Champions kits, but this time it’s the other way around. The new livery will appear on a real E30-gen M3, which will be displayed when the kit makes its public debut at an event in Berlin, Germany, on August 1, 2026.
Whether you’re a LEGO fan, a BMW fan, or both, you can pre-order the LEGO BMW M3 E30 kit online for $29.99, excluding shipping. Deliveries are scheduled to start on August 1, 2026. The kit will later be sold through participating LEGO stores and BMW dealerships around the world. You’ll be able to dress up like the Minifigure, too: BMW will release a life-sized version of the Minifigure’s t-shirt on August 1, 2026.
