The Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) has officially opened a new representative office in Berlin, further strengthening its presence in Germany, Croatia’s most important tourism market.
The new office will work alongside HTZ’s existing office in Munich, allowing the organisation to more effectively cover the entire German market. It also continues Croatia’s long-standing presence in Germany, previously maintained through its office in Frankfurt for the past three decades.
“By opening our office in Berlin, an important European political, economic and transport hub, we are further strengthening our presence in this part of Germany,” said HTZ Director Kristjan Staničić.
Germany remains Croatia’s leading tourism market, with German visitors accounting for more than 20 percent of all tourist overnight stays in the country. Staničić noted that German travellers increasingly choose to visit Croatia during the pre-season and post-season periods, helping to extend the tourism year beyond the peak summer months.
While Croatia has traditionally been known as a popular driving destination for German holidaymakers, air connectivity is becoming increasingly important. Croatia is currently connected to 15 German cities through direct flights, further boosting accessibility and supporting tourism growth.
The opening of the Berlin office reflects Croatia’s continued focus on attracting German visitors, who remain among the country’s most loyal and valuable tourism markets.
