For many workers in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory, it might be a day to kick back and relax.
For others, it’s the perfect opportunity to get organised for the upcoming week.

If you’re planning a grocery shop on Monday, it’ll pay to know what’s open.
Aldi
Aldi shoppers are advised to check in with their local store as trading hours will vary widely around the country.
In New South Wales, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory, all stores will be open.
In Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, it’ll depend on the store.
Coles
NSW, VIC, TAS, ACT
All stores are open.
NT
All stores open with reduced trading hours.
SA
All stores closed except Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Berri, Port Augusta, Mount Barker, Adelaide Rundle Place, Whyalla, Murray Bridge Green, Mount Gambier and Victor Harbor.

NSW, ACT, VIC and TAS
Most stores will be open as usual, with some trading on reduced hours.
SA, NT
Most stores will be closed, while others will operate on reduced hours.

Some stores will be closed, with most remaining locations open on reduced hours.
BIG W
NSW, ACT, VIC, SA, TAS and the NT
Some stores will be closed, while most locations will trade on reduced hours.

Bunnings
Bunnings stores in NSW, ACT, SA, NT, TAS and VIC will be open; however, as with any public holiday, the retailer told Yahoo News it “encourages customers” to check their local store’s trading hours on our website, as they may differ.
Bunnings Trade Centres in these states will be closed.

ACT
All Westfield centres will trade between 10am and 4pm.
NSW
Westfield Sydney: 10am–7pm Westfield Bondi, Burwood, Chatswood, Hurstville, Miranda and Parramatta: 10am–6pm Westfield Eastgardens, Hornsby, Liverpool, Mt Druitt, Penrith, Tuggerah and Warringah Mall: 10am–5pm Westfield Kotara: 10am–4pm
VIC
All Westfield centres will trade from 10am–5pm.
SA
All Westfield centres will be closed.
Kmart
Across Australia, most Kmart stores will trade as normal, with extended trading hours in many metro locations and a mix of reduced hours in regional areas.
In Queensland, NSW, Victoria, Western Australia, the ACT and Tasmania, the majority of stores will remain open.
That includes several 24-hour locations such as Figtree, Casula, Penrith, Mt Druitt, Blacktown, Sylvania, Belmont and Campbellfield.
Most metropolitan stores will operate standard holiday hours, generally between 8am and 9pm, while some regional stores will close earlier.
In South Australia, trading is significantly more limited, with many stores closed for the day.
Only select locations, including Rundle Mall (11am–5pm), Mt Barker, Port Lincoln, Port Pirie and Whyalla, will open with reduced hours.
Shoppers are advised to check in with their local store.

Overall, Kmart’s trading hours vary widely by location.
Target
Across states observing the King’s Birthday public holiday, most Target stores in Victoria, NSW, Queensland, WA, ACT and Tasmania will be open, trading on varied reduced or extended hours.
In South Australia, all listed stores will be closed, including major locations such as Tea Tree Plaza, Marion, West Lakes, Elizabeth, Newton and Unley.
