The City of Tuscaloosa is celebrating America’s 250th birthday at its annual Celebration on the River Fourth of July event, happening at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater.
Family-friendly festivities kick off at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 4, with children’s activities, live music, fireworks and more.
The schedule of activities includes:
6–8 p.m.: Kids Zone in West and East Plazas featuring face painting and inflatable games6–7:55 p.m.: DJ Tank Performance7:55 p.m.: Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra performance featuring patriotic selections lasting through the end of fireworks9 p.m.: Fireworks begin following brief remarks from Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox
Attendees are encouraged to park in the free downtown Intermodal Parking Facility located at 2230 7th St. A free shuttle is available to the amphitheater. Accessible parking will be available in the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater box office lot.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard/Jack Warner Parkway Improvements Project is ongoing, meaning Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard is closed from just north of Sixth Street to Jack Warner Parkway near the Nick’s Kids Avenue intersection.
The Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater’s clear bag policy will be in effect.
