The Whitaker Group have had an elite year so far, and that’s a surprise – only because we didn’t think they could top 2025’s barrage of bangers! Already we’ve heard that A Ma Maniére are set to launch a smorgasbord of Air Force 1s, and we’ve seen the continuation of the adidas ‘Do Not Duplicate’ series. What’s interesting about the latter initiative with Team Trefoil is the way it pushes the boundaries by actually reworking existing silhouettes – not just applying a new colourway. A perfect example is the latest linkup with APB, which provides a two-stack of Powerphases for Go Skate Day.

The Powerphase is an 80s cross-trainer, but APB have turned it into a design they’ve dubbed the ‘Puff’, which perfectly exudes 2010s skate vibes. The upper is completely inflated, especially within the tongue, which bulges out of the collar and is complemented by wide laces. In terms of materials, mesh dominates the midfoot, while opulent suede hits the rear and toe. Completing each colourway – tonal brown and tonal grey – are the metal ‘Do Not Duplicate’ swing tags.

Inspiring this project are the future and past – APB remember the legendary skaters of yesteryear, but are equally excited by the new talent coming up.
