Adidas’ homage to Oasis and Britpop Britain, “Original Forever,” has won the Entertainment Grand Prix as Cannes Lions reveals the winners across the Entertainment and Craft tracks.

Created by New York agency Johannes Leonardo, the very British campaign jumped on the hype around the long-awaited reunion of the Gallagher brothers last summer and capitalized on the sportswear giant’s long association with the band.

Joining Oasis on tour with pop-up shops and stalls around the stadium selling official tour merch, Adidas soon became the uniform of the cultural moment with one sale per second at its peak. Adidas also created a nostalgic music video set to Oasis’ 1994 track “Live Forever,” which linked the Oasis heyday with the modern fan experience and featured as the opening act in 41 stadiums across the world.

Here are the other Grand Prix winners across Entertainment for Gaming, Entertainment for Sport, Entertainment for Music, Design, Digital Craft, Film Craft, and Industry Craft.

Entertainment for Gaming

Multiplayer strategy game Clash Royale scooped the Entertainment for Gaming Grand Prix for “Copycats Welcome.” Created by David New York, the campaign targeted rip-offs that mimic its gameplay, weapons, and characters. Instead of suing the poor imitations, Clash Royale went after players on Reddit, asking them to rejoin the official game and bring any progress they’d made in the copycat versions with them.

Entertainment for Sport

The Entertainment for Sport Grand Prix went to Peruvian soccer team Deportivo Municipal. Once the winner of four Primera División titles, the popular club has since fallen to the third division, resulting in the loss of its main sponsor but, thankfully, not its fans’ passion. To make up the cash, McCann Lima set up a sponsorship platform that would allow 1,000 fan-owned businesses to support the team through micro-donations, redesigning the jersey into a grid of 1000 sponsor spaces.

Entertainment for Music

The music video for Rosalía’s goth-pop hit “Berghain” won the Entertainment for Music Grand Prix. Created by Canada and directed by Nicolás Méndez, the surreal film incorporates Snow White symbolism, presenting the song’s collaborator, Björk, as a wise bird, while exploring themes of lost innocence, toxic heartbreak, and emotional rebirth.

Design

TBWA\Media Arts Lab’s luminous rebrand of Apple TV landed the Design Grand Prix. Heralding the streaming platform’s entry into a new era, the team went to great lengths to build a glass model of its famous logo, which they filmed in-camera and set to a bespoke score by musician Finneas O’Connell, adding emotional texture to the kinetic play of colors and light.

Digital Craft

Google secured the Digital Craft Grand Prix for “Project Genie,” a text and image-to-world prototype designed to generate interactive environments. Developed by Google DeepMind, the website let Google AI Ultra subscribers access Genie 3 to create and explore their own worlds.

Film Craft

Bitcoin giant Coinbase landed the Film Craft Grand Prix for its Oscars ad, “Your Way Out,” created by Isle of Any. Directed by Oscar Hudson through MJZ, the film takes place in a video game world where a non-playable character (NPC) goes rogue and breaks free into a new world populated by real humans, symbolizing financial freedom.

Industry Craft

De’Longhi’s “Tiny Coffee Shops” won the Industry Craft Grand Prix. The campaign enlisted Wes Anderson collaborator and miniature unit supervisor Simon Weisse to turn five De’Longhi coffee machines into coffee shop miniatures to help people realize they can get cafe-quality coffee from the comfort of their own home.
