Traton launched an Australian Medium Term Note (AMTN) program with a volume of AUD 5 billion (approximately EUR 2.9 billion). The program opens access to investor groups in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Traton said this helps expand its capital market strategy and marks a step beyond the company’s established European financing base.

This complements Traton’s existing EUR 18.0 billion European Medium Term Note (EMTN) program, which has been the group’s primary financing platform since 2021. By entering the Australian market, Traton said it is seeking currency diversification and a broader regional investor base to support growing financing needs.

Expanding Financing Opportunities

Traton said the Australian bond market offers global issuers diversification benefits. Additionally it enables fund managers to invest directly in Australian dollars (AUD) alongside euro-based investments. Asian investors also actively participate in the AUD primary bond market, making it an important platform for regional capital flow.

“With the new AMTN program, we are laying the foundation for further sustainable and flexible financing of our international growth strategy—especially in the area of financial services,” said Dr. Michael Jackstein, CFO and CHRO of the Traton Group.

Structure of the AMTN Program

Traton Finance Luxembourg S.A., an indirect subsidiary of Traton SE, is authorized to issue bonds under the AMTN program. Traton SE will act as guarantor for these bonds. Proceeds are intended for general corporate purposes, with funds available for allocation within the Traton Group as needed.

The AMTN program is governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia, ensuring compliance with local regulatory frameworks.
