In one of the more intriguing three-way sneaker collabs to cross our desk lately, adidas is teaming with Brain Dead and Disney, two very different names within its partner rolodex, on a Predator collaboration for the World Cup.
The upper pulls straight from the original Predator cleat from ’94, black and white colorway and all. The bottom, meanwhile, swaps soccer spikes for a black rubber lug sole, bolstered by new leather welting around the toe and heel. Beyond co-branded insoles, the real collaborative magic lives in the extras. One of the two included removable foldover flaps comes with perforations, designed to hold a set of six vintage-inspired Disney character pins. The other goes the opposite direction in simple black patent leather, balancing out the playful option with a touch of sophistication.
The apparel spread is just as noteworthy. adidas, Brain Dead, and Disney have created a range of collaborative kits rooted in ’90s nostalgia, including an unofficial Brazil shirt and more. Our personal favorite is a scarf featuring a graphic of Mickey Mouse performing a header.
The Brain Dead x Disney x adidas collection releases June 29th via adidas CONFIRMED, adidas.com, select adidas stores, select retailers, and wearebraindead.com. Retail is set at $200 for the shoes. See detailed images below before deciding whether to cop.
