The German national soccer team’s World Cup jerseys remain a bestseller. He estimates that more than three million Germany jerseys have been sold in total, said Adidas CEO Björn Gulden during a media roundtable in New York. Sales of DFB jerseys are three times higher than they were during the World Cup in Qatar four years ago. That’s a record.

As usual, demand for the white home jersey is the highest, Gulden explained. But the blue away jersey is also selling significantly better than the pink one from the home European Championship two years ago. The sporting goods manufacturer is “extremely satisfied” with its global sales figures and is experiencing an “incredible increase” compared to the 2022 Winter World Cup. Mexico jerseys are selling the most- ahead of those of the Argentine and German teams.

Jerseys with “V” now available again

The issue with the letter “V” on the DFB jerseys has also been resolved, Gulden said ahead of the German team’s final group stage match on Thursday (10:00 p.m./ARD and MagentaTV) against Ecuador in East Rutherford. The high demand for name patches featuring the names of players Deniz Undav, Kai Havertz, and Aleksandar Pavlovic had recently caused shortages in availability, the equipment supplier explained.

The decades-long partnership between the sportswear manufacturer and the German Football Association (DFB) is coming to an end. Starting in 2027, the German national teams will be outfitted by the US company Nike.
