Paraguay defeated Germany in a dramatic World Cup match on Monday afternoon, winning on penalty kicks. Local Paraguayan fans packed into Cafe Guarani in Pacific Grove to watch the game and celebrate their team’s victory. “It felt amazing. I mean, there’s only so little of us here. Paraguayan American, the native Paraguayans. And I feel like just seeing the, like, everybody come together. You know, soccer really brings everybody together,” one fan, Alexis Rodas-Mendoza, said.
