Shoppers across Wales are being offered the opportunity to win a five-minute trolley dash at their nearest Aldi store. Inspired by the classic gameshow fronted by Dale Winton and the re-boot with Rylan Clark-Neal, the supermarket had decided to extend its popular Supermarket Sweep fundraising initiative to England and Wales for the first time.
Ten winners from England and Wales will be chosen to participate in the challenge, racing against time to load their trolley with Aldi goods within just five minutes. Following the dash, Aldi will contribute the complete value of each winning trolley to Teenage Cancer Trust, supporting young people battling cancer throughout the UK.
The competition follows on from Aldi Scotland’s established Supermarket Sweep programme, which has generated over £60,000 for charitable causes during the last ten years. For the biggest stories in Wales first sign up to our daily newsletter here

Since joining forces with Teenage Cancer Trust back in 2017, Aldi’s customers and staff have collectively raised over £11 million for the charity, with the supermarket hoping to reach £15 million by 2027.
Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield said: “Our customers are always incredibly supportive of the causes we champion, and we’re pleased to be bringing this much-loved fundraising initiative to England and Wales for the first time.
“We can’t wait to give shoppers the opportunity to put their trolley-dashing skills to the test, while helping to raise vital funds for Teenage Cancer Trust. Every pound raised will help the charity continue providing specialist care and support to young people with cancer when they need it most.”
Co-Director of Engagement at Teenage Cancer Trust, Vikki Calcutt added: “Cancer kills more teenagers and young adults in the UK than any other disease, yet cancer care wasn’t made for young people. Teenage Cancer Trust exists to make sure no young person goes through the trauma of cancer alone – but we can’t do it without support.
“That’s why we’re so grateful to Aldi for supporting us over the last nine years. Thank you to everyone getting involved and helping to make a difference – and good luck to all the trolley dashers!”.
