Aldi shoppers in Devon could soon be racing through the aisles in a five-minute trolley dash.

The ‘Supermarket Sweep’ competition, now running in Aldi stores across England, gives customers the chance to fill their trolley with as many products as possible in just five minutes.

Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, said: “Our customers are always incredibly supportive of the causes we champion, and we’re pleased to be bringing this much-loved fundraising initiative to England and Wales for the first time.

“Every pound raised will help the charity continue providing specialist care and support to young people with cancer when they need it most.”

The full value of each winning trolley will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust, which supports teenagers and young adults diagnosed with cancer.

This is the first time the Aldi Supermarket Sweep has been held outside of Scotland, where the fundraiser has raised more than £60,000 for charity over the past 10 years.

To enter, shoppers should email aldisupermarketsweep@aldi.co.uk.

The competition runs from Tuesday, July 7 to Tuesday, August 4.

Since starting its partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust in 2017, Aldi has raised more than £11 million for the charity.
