Omterra: a single identity for the entire group
The new name chosen is Omterra. Under this brand, Siemens Energy indicates that its two current entities — Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, which specialises in renewable energy — will be brought together under a single umbrella. The rebranding process is set to begin before the end of the current calendar year and will be implemented in stages. No precise timeline has been communicated at this stage.
The choice of the Omterra name reflects, according to the company, the group’s global footprint, its technological expertise and its commitment to contributing to reliable energy supplies worldwide. In a sector where the realignment of partnerships is accelerating — as illustrated by the memorandum of cooperation on energy markets signed between Singapore and Japan — major industrial players are seeking to assert their global positioning.
Christian Bruch cites the group’s operational and financial strength
Christian Bruch, chief executive officer of Siemens Energy, justified the decision by pointing to the group’s current standing. “Today, our company is well positioned strategically, operationally and financially. We have earned the trust of our customers and the capital markets, improved our profitability, and have ambitious growth plans for the years ahead,” he stated. He also noted that the founder’s name had “opened doors” during the company’s development, while underlining that this legacy now serves as an inspiration rather than an operational necessity.
The company has assured customers, business partners and employees that its strategic direction remains unchanged. No modification to the operational perimeter and no major organisational adjustment have been announced alongside this change of identity. Financial details related to the rebranding operation, including its cost, have not been disclosed.
