Australians battling the rising cost of living will soon pay less for a range of meat products at Aldi after the supermarket announced what it described as ‘permanent’ price cuts across dozens of supermarket staples.
Aldi has reduced prices on fresh meat, poultry, seafood and deli items, with savings of up to 20 per cent on popular products including lamb chops, bacon, beef mince and sausages.
Unlike their weekly specials or limited-time promotions, Aldi said the lower prices are a permanent move and will be available in stores nationwide from today.
“These permanent reductions across some of the most popular proteins families buy are real savings that can make a meaningful difference at mealtimes,” Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi Australia, Jordan Lack, said.
It comes as Woolworths’ price freeze on 300 everyday products comes to an end on August 1.
What Aldi meat products are being discounted?
The retailer is investing more than $170 million into permanent price reductions across more than 300 products, based on customer purchasing habits over the past 12 months.
Among the biggest savings is lamb loin chops, which have dropped from $29.99 per kilogram to $23.99 per kilogram — a saving of more than $6.
Short cut and middle bacon (1kg) have both fallen from $11.49 to $9.99, while 500g packs of 5-star beef mince are now $9.99, down from $10.49.
Other reductions include beef silverside, rolled boneless lamb leg, frozen atlantic salmon, deli meats, and several sausage varieties.

Lack said cost-of-living pressures remain front of mind for many families.
“That’s why we’re focused on keeping quality groceries affordable every day and helping customers make their dollar go further with Aldi prices,” he said.
