Formula E has announced a new partnership with giffgaff, making the mobile and broadband provider the championship’s first official B Corp partner ahead of the 2026 Hankook London E-Prix.
The collaboration brings together two B Corp-certified organisations with a shared focus on sustainability, innovation and community impact. Alongside fan experiences at London’s ExCeL, the partnership will also see €25,000 donated to Big Issue through Formula E’s Better Futures Fund, helping young people overcome barriers to employment.
Formula E And giffgaff Unite Through Shared Sustainability Goals
Formula E has become recognised not only for electric racing but also for its environmental commitments. As the first and only global sport to achieve B Corp certification, the championship continues to expand initiatives designed to deliver social impact beyond race weekends.
giffgaff, which achieved B Corp certification in 2022, shares many of these values. The UK telecoms provider has focused on reducing electronic waste through refurbished devices while promoting digital inclusion.
The new partnership will debut during the 2026 Hankook London E-Prix, taking place at ExCeL London on 15 and 16 August.

Better Futures Fund supports Big Issue Recruit
A key part of the partnership is a €25,000 contribution from Formula E’s Better Futures Fund to Big Issue Recruit, an employability programme operated by Big Issue.
The funding will help young people facing barriers to employment by providing:
Refurbished smartphones to improve digital connectivity.
Employability support and career development.
Paid work experience during the London E-Prix weekend.
Behind-the-scenes access to Formula E operations.
Participants will also take part in Formula E’s community tour before working alongside giffgaff employees throughout the race weekend.
Big Issue Recruit has already worked closely with giffgaff since 2023, supplying refurbished phones to Big Issue vendors and helping improve digital access while supporting long-term employment opportunities.

Fan Village activities at the London E-Prix
Visitors attending the 2026 Hankook London E-Prix will be able to visit giffgaff’s interactive stand inside the Fan Village.
Activities will include:
Phone health checks.
Interactive sustainability quizzes with prizes.
Information about refurbished smartphones.
Advice on trading in old devices.
Demonstrations of eSIM technology.
Instant trade-in options with recycling partner Likewise.
The activation aims to educate race-goers about the circular economy and encourage longer lifespans for mobile devices.
According to giffgaff, 66% of the phones it sold over the past year were refurbished, helping reduce electronic waste while making smartphones more affordable.
Leaders Highlight Shared Purpose
Kate Dohaney, CEO of giffgaff, described the partnership as a natural fit, saying both organisations are united by innovation, sustainability and community values.
Julia Pallé, Vice President of Sustainability at Formula E, said the collaboration reflects both organisations’ commitment to creating positive social impact while supporting Big Issue Recruit through the Better Futures Fund.
Russell Blackman, Managing Director at Big Issue, welcomed the funding, highlighting how access to smartphones, work experience and digital skills can make a meaningful difference for people seeking employment.
