A Russian attack on the night of Aug. 5 destroyed the warehouse facilities of a logistics partner used by Bosch Ukraine, wiping out all Bosch products stored at the site, the company said.
The warehouse contained products from several Bosch business divisions, including mobility, consumer goods and industrial technology.
“As a result of another Russian attack, the warehouse facilities of our logistics partner, where Bosch products from various business divisions, including mobility, consumer goods, and industrial technology, were stored, were destroyed,” Bosch Ukraine’s press service said.
No employees of Bosch or its logistics partner were injured in the attack.
According to preliminary information, all Bosch products stored inside the warehouse were destroyed, leaving the company and its logistics partner to assess the scale of the losses.
Bosch said it was already working with its logistics partner to determine the consequences of the strike and find solutions to maintain business operations and meet commitments to customers and partners.
The attack was part of a wider Russian missile and drone assault on Ukraine overnight on Aug. 5, which also involved ballistic missiles.
The Kyiv region was among the main targets, with casualties reported and numerous logistics hubs and warehouses damaged or destroyed.
Other major Ukrainian companies also reported damage to their facilities. Among the businesses whose warehouses were destroyed were Epicentr, Ukraine’s largest home improvement and building materials retailer; online retailer ROZETKA; supermarket chains Silpo and NOVUS; and Nova Poshta, Ukraine’s largest private postal and parcel delivery company.
The scale of the destruction has already raised concerns about the impact on Ukraine’s business sector and supply chains.
Some companies have reported losses worth billions following the strikes on logistics infrastructure in and around Kyiv, while the government is preparing emergency measures to support affected businesses.
The attacks could also have consequences for consumers if damaged logistics networks disrupt the movement and availability of goods across Ukraine.
For Bosch, the immediate priority is assessing the losses from the destroyed warehouse and finding alternative arrangements to keep deliveries and other business processes running.
