Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has unveiled MB.Charge Public, a new charging ecosystem that combines all of its existing charging facilities, alongside more than 3,000 charging points across over 1,000 locations from seven charge point operators (CPO), into one convenient and accessible system for its customers.
The system, an extension of the brand’s global public charging network under the same name, will allow Mercedes-Benz electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle owners to locate, filter, navigate, and pay for charging through the Mercedes-Benz App on their mobile phones, or directly on the cars’ MBUX multimedia system – negating the need to install a library of apps on their phones just to charge their cars.
Thanks to its partnership with the seven CPO partners, including CarputZap, Charge+, ChargeSini, chargEV, DC Handal, Gentari, and JomCharge, MBM says MB.Charge Public is amongst one of the most extensive public charging networks here in Malaysia.
On top of that, the ecosystem will also enable cross-border charging between Malaysia and Singapore without the need for a different payment method, with access to charging networks from Charge+, ComfortDelGro Energy, SP Group, and Volt in the island nation. Likewise, Mercedes-Benz customers from Singapore can also use MB.Charge Public to charge their vehicles in Malaysia.
“Bringing MB.Charge Public to Malaysia marks the next chapter in Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s electric mobility journey,” said MBM Chief Operating Officer, Nadia Trimmel. “The strength of this offering lies in the ecosystem behind it, bringing together our vehicles, the Mercedes-Benz App, and an expanding network of Charging Point Operator partners.”
“By making public charging easier to access and manage through one platform, MB.Charge Public adds greater convenience to the everyday driving experience of both plug-in hybrid and all-electric Mercedes-Benz customers.”
The company has committed to expand its strategic partnerships to further strengthen its charging ecosystem in the future and enhancing the ownership experience for electric and plug-in hybrid customers.
