Mercedes-Benz Korea Ltd. announced on the 18th that it will launch the facelifted version of its flagship sedan, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, along with the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in South Korea. The new S-Class is a facelifted model in which more than 50% of the vehicle’s components have been newly developed or improved. Mercedes-Benz said it has enhanced the design, comfort, digital experience, driving performance and safety technologies, marking the most extensive changes since the current generation debuted.

The regular S-Class lineup consists of six models: the S 350 d 4MATIC, Mercedes-Benz S 450 4MATIC, S 450 4MATIC Long Exclusive, Mercedes-Benz S 450 4MATIC Long AMG Line, S 500 4MATIC Long and S 580 4MATIC Long. Prices range from 154 million won to 270 million won, including VAT.

The powertrain lineup includes six-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines, as well as a V8 gasoline engine. The S 350 d 4MATIC is equipped with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine and delivers 313 horsepower and 66.3 kgf·m of torque. The Mercedes-Benz S 450 4MATIC lineup uses a 3.0-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 381 horsepower and 57.1 kgf·m of torque.

The higher-end S 500 4MATIC Long is powered by a six-cylinder gasoline engine and generates 449 horsepower and 61.2 kgf·m of torque. The S 580 4MATIC Long is fitted with a 4.0-liter V8 gasoline engine, delivering 537 horsepower and 76.5 kgf·m of torque.

Convenience features also vary by trim. Long-wheelbase models from the S 450 4MATIC Long Exclusive and above come with power rear seats with memory function, as well as heated and ventilated rear seats. Starting with the S 450 4MATIC Long AMG Line, the MBUX high-end rear-seat entertainment system is offered, while the S 500 4MATIC Long and above come standard with Executive Seat and a chauffeur package.

The digital experience has also been upgraded. All models are equipped with the latest MBUX based on Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS). The lineup also supports services tailored to Korean customers, including TMAP AUTO, LG Uplus Live TV+, Genie Music and Millie’s Library audiobooks.

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will be launched in three variants: the Mercedes-Maybach S 580, the Mercedes-Maybach S 580 Manufaktur and the Mercedes-Maybach S 680. Prices range from 317 million won to 407 million won. The S 580 lineup uses a 4.0-liter V8 gasoline engine that produces 537 horsepower and 76.5 kgf·m of torque, while the S 680 is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 gasoline engine with 630 horsepower and 91.8 kgf·m of torque.

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class emphasizes chauffeur-oriented features such as a dedicated illuminated radiator grille, exclusive forged wheels, Maybach exclusive Nappa leather, power-operated rear comfort doors, Executive Seat and massage functions. On the S 580 Manufaktur and higher models, four-seat first-class rear seats are available as a paid option.
