BMW has taken the all-new G95 fifth generation X5 mid-size luxury crossover SUV in a very futuristic direction from the design standpoint and offers no less than five powertrain choices. What’s not to like about it?
Erm, that was rhetorical, as we already know that a lot of BMW fans don’t believe the Neue Klasse styling ethos is their cup of tea, to put it mildly. The fifth iteration of the original BMW SAV is going in very bold directions, and some will lament the overall design direction while others will weep over some of the smaller features – like the departure of the beloved split tailgate, which many considered to be the best feature in its fight against the Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz GLE, among other ardent rivals.
However, it’s all show – the Neue Klasse attire is present inside and outside of the cockpit but not also under the metal. Instead, BMW opted to continue on the CLAR platform to offer gasoline, diesel, plug-in hybrid, all-electric, as well as a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain so that anyone can get the option they want and best see fit.
It’s going to be an ardent battle in the segment because Mercedes-Benz just refreshed the GLE and GLE Coupe with three-pointed star LED daylight running lamps both front and rear among other things while Audi has refined the all-new Q7 with a muscled-up design, more space, additional luxury amenities, as well as traditional SUV appeal while the only thing controversial about it could be the split-headlight feature although even that one is well integrated into the overall design.
Well, it remains to be seen who prevails, but it seems the BMW X5 has already become the darling of the aftermarket realm thanks to a member of the imaginative guild of digital car content creators. So, he stopped dwelling across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI – Ildar, the virtual artist better known as “ildar_project” on social media, usually plays with tuned vehicles – so is anyone surprised by this G95 BMW X5?
Already, the pixel master has made several versions of his unique tuning body kit for the 2027 BMW X5, dressed in black, blue, green, white, brown, and even pink! All of them have in common the same thing: an aggressive and dominating stance. The setup is achieved with yellow X lights, a completely redesigned front fascia with blacked-out kidneys and larger air vents, integrated fender flares both front and rear for a widebody look, new Y-spoke black alloy wheels, additional black trim pieces, dual spoilers for the roof and ducktail elements, and a very aggressive bumper setup.
The CGI expert also doesn’t fancy the BMW iX5 and instead he focuses on the ICE-powered versions, and this creation is going to be easily recognized because when the kidney grilles do light up, they’re also of the amber variety. Cool or not?
