Sunday at the BMW Championship, someone will hoist a trophy and bank a large payday. There will be 29 others advancing to the Tour Championship in Atlanta. That means 20 golfers will see their season come to an end.
The BMW is the second of three events that make up the FedEx Cup Playoffs, and there’s now just 18 holes left. What’s in store in St. Louis?

What a way to close for his third win of the year. Wyndham Clark birdies the final three holes to win the 2026 BMW Championship at Bellerive.
Wyndham Clark on verge of victory
Rory McIlroy bogeys the 17th while Clark makes birdie, and his lead is three walking to the final hole. It got dicey for a while there, but the BMW is his if he takes care of business on 18.
Wyndham Clark takes one-shot lead with two to play
Wyndham Clark’s first birdie of the day could not have come at a better time. He birdies the par-3 16th and goes one ahead of Rory McIlroy with two holes to play.
Rory McIlroy and Wyndham Clark remain tied with four holes to play at the BMW. McIlroy burnt an edge on a go-ahead birdie on the 14th.
Wyndham Clark drops another shot
The lead is down to one over Rory McIlroy. Wyndham Clark bogeys the 10th, and he moves to 14 under. Chris Gotterup is now T-3 along with Gary Woodland and Patrick Cantlay two shots behind.
Wyndham Clark lips out the birdie look on 9, which would have been his first of the day, and his lead is two shots over Patrick Cantlay and Rory McIlroy with nine hole to go at Bellerive. Clark goes out in 2-over 37 and is at 15 under overall.
Woodland gets within one … then tops his tee shot
Gary Woodland birdied the eighth hole to move within a shot. Then he topped his tee shot (with an iron) off the par-4 ninth and it went into a creek. Pain.
Wyndham Clark drops another shot
Another bogey for the leader, who now sits at 15 under but remains two ahead of Gary Woodland and three in front of Rory McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay. Perks of having a five-shot lead when the day begins. Clark missed the green on the par-3 sixth and was unable to get up and down.
Gary Woodland moves within two
Can Gary Woodland have a stellar come-from-behind win? He birdies three of his first five holes and is now only two behind Clark, who’s at 16 under thru three holes.
Wyndham Clark three putts for bogey on the opening hole. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy makes a birdie. It’s now only a three-shot lead for Clark, who has played the opening hole in 3 over on the weekend.
Bud Cauley, Rickie Fowler likely to miss Tour Championship
Two of the players who started the week inside the top 30 won’t be there come Sunday evening. Bud Cauley, who started the week 29th, and Rickie Fowler (30th) are both done in the final rounds and now projected 34th and 32nd, respectfully. There still could be late movement, but Cauley is likely not going to make it while Fowler would need some incredible help to make it to East Lake.

It will be another hot and sunny day in St. Louis on Sunday. The forecast calls for a high temperature around 85 degrees with a northwest wind at 5-10 mph. The humidity will bring the heat index near 90 degrees.
These are the last 10 winners of the BMW, the third-oldest non-major tournament on the PGA Tour. It was first played in 1899 as the Western Open. BMW took over title sponsorship in 2007.
