Pirelli and Porsche developed six Cayenne Electric tires through a fully virtual design process. The range covers summer, winter and all-season driving. The lineup includes the fifth-generation P Zero. Pirelli said it designed it to balance performance, efficiency and driving range.
A P Zero R supports the high-performance Cayenne Turbo. The range also includes two winter fitments and one all-season tire. All six fitments use Pirelli Elect technology for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Virtual Development for Cayenne Electric Tires
The Porsche Cayenne Electric uses advanced chassis and control systems. These systems can manage drive torque within milliseconds. Pirelli said it used a fully virtual development process for the tire program. Engineers tested each aspect of the fitments before producing physical prototypes.
Pirelli said it selected different compounds based on tire specification, axle position and size. The designs support precise steering response and vehicle stability.
The development follows Pirelli’s Perfect Fit strategy. The strategy focuses on creating tire solutions for individual vehicles.
P Zero Balances Performance and Efficiency
Pirelli developed a dedicated P Zero in 21- and 22-inch sizes. The front and rear axles use different specifications. Pirelli said the tire balances efficiency, performance and wet-weather safety.
Low rolling resistance compounds help support battery range. The tire also manages demanding maneuvers, including high-speed lane changes. Its design maintains stability during those maneuvers. Pirelli also focused on wet grip and vehicle control.
P Zero R Supports Cayenne Turbo
Pirelli developed a dedicated 22-inch P Zero R for the Cayenne Electric. The tire uses separate front- and rear-axle specifications.
The fitment supports the performance requirements of the Cayenne Turbo. The vehicle accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (approx. 60 mph) in 2.5 seconds.
Pirelli said it used an ultra-high-performance compound derived from its motorsport programs. Its performance is close to the semi-slick P Zero Trofeo RS. The tire uses the same compound developed for the Porsche 911. Pirelli adapted it for the Cayenne Electric’s weight and wear requirements.
Axle-specific compounds and an optimized contact patch support longitudinal traction. They also help maintain stability and steering response under instant motor torque.
Winter and All-Season Fitments
Pirelli developed the Scorpion Winter 2 as the approved winter fitment. It is available in 20- and 22-inch sizes. The range also includes a 20-inch Scorpion MS All Season tire.
These options expand the available fitments for different weather conditions and seasonal requirements.
Pirelli Elect Technology Supports EV Demands
All six fitments feature Pirelli Elect technology. Pirelli developed the technology for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Low rolling resistance helps support driving range and reduce charging costs.
The compounds and structures provide grip under instant torque and increased vehicle weight. They also support improved wear resistance, Pirelli said. Lower tire noise contributes to acoustic comfort.
The OE fitments provide product information for dealers and repair shops serving Cayenne Electric owners.
