Oreos aren’t just black-and-white cookies anymore. They’ve expanded to include some truly out-there flavors and combinations we didn’t know could go in a cookie, from Firecracker Pop-flavored bites to a stack inspired by chicken and waffles. Even celebrities like Post Malone and Selena Gomez have their own spins on the sweet sandwich cookies.
Now, fan-favorite grocery store Aldi—known for its just as good, if not better, copycats—is venturing into Oreo territory. The retailer just launched two all-new treats that sound like they could’ve come straight from Oreo’s R&D team, and we can’t wait to try them.
Aldi’s 2 New Benton’s Sandwich Cookies
The coin-in-the-cart grocery store is releasing two new sandwich cookies to celebrate the final days of summer.
First up is Funnel Cake, a state fair-inspired treat comprised of vanilla cookies and sweet cream. Somehow, Aldi managed to capture the crave-worthy flavors of the sugar-dusted treat in one cookie. Who needs to visit a state fair when you can buy a pack of these instead? Surprisingly, Oreo currently doesn’t have a funnel cake flavor, but after discovering Aldi’s, we’re thinking maybe it should.

The second flavor is S’mores, a classic summer flavor that Oreo has also tapped into. In fact, fans have called S’moreos the “best cookie of all time.” However, unlike S’moreos, which feature a layer of marshmallow creme, Aldi’s version keeps things simple with a layer of chocolate creme between two (presumably) graham cracker-flavored cookies.
As the sun starts to set earlier and the nights cool off, you can now enjoy a s’mores inside your home—without the fire pit and melted chocolate mess. And shoppers are definitely excited about this. “S’mores cookies in a cookie form? That’s a tent-mendous idea!” wrote a fan on Facebook.
While no tent is needed to enjoy these summery cookies, you might be camping out with all the Aldi fans excited to get their hands on them. These new end-of-summer treats will be available on Aug. 26 with all of the other amazing Aldi Finds of the week.
Despite grocery stores filling up with all things pumpkin spice, summer isn’t over quite yet. Grab a pack (or three) on your next Aldi run because we don’t know how long these cookies will remain on shelves.
