Rishi GoelRishi GoelVolkswagen India on Thursday said it has appointed automotive industry veteran Rishi Goel as its Head of Dealer Development, as the German carmaker prepares for the next phase of its growth in the country, including its entry into the sub-4-metre compact SUV segment in 2027.

According to his LinkedIn update, Goel took charge in July 2026 and will focus on strengthening Volkswagen Passenger Cars India’s dealer network and business development.

The appointment comes at a crucial time for Volkswagen India, which recently announced plans to introduce an all-new sub-4-metre compact SUV in 2027.

Goel brings more than 25 years of experience across OEMs, automotive retail and entrepreneurial ventures. His career spans roles at Volkswagen, Maruti Suzuki, Audi, General Motors, Tata Motors and Ola, with experience across network and business development, sales and aftersales, P&L management, business transformation and retail operations.

Before joining Volkswagen India, Goel was the co-founder and CEO of automotive aftermarket startup Autofaktory between July 2022 and August 2026. He had earlier served as Senior Director for Ola Cars and as CEO of Concorde Motors India.

His appointment adds experience in both OEM operations and automotive retail to Volkswagen India’s network development efforts as the company looks to expand its presence and reach a wider set of customers with its upcoming compact SUV.
