New Berlin man accused of impersonating border patrol agent faces new charges
A New Berlin man previously charged with impersonating a border patrol agent is now accused of harassing a letter carrier at his home.
NEW BERLIN, Wis. —
A New Berlin man previously charged with impersonating a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent is now facing new allegations of harassing a letter carrier at his home.
Hank Glembin, 35, was charged in 2025 after stopping to assist a Muskego police officer with a dead deer while dressed in fake Border Patrol attire. Prosecutors said he showed the officer an ID that read “Department of Homeland Security” with his photo, but the officer was skeptical.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a green vest in Muskego,” the officer said.
Prosecutors said Glembin later went to the Muskego Police Department asking for the officer’s name. Days later, he was arrested in New Berlin after approaching another police traffic stop while wearing a Border Patrol hat, tactical vest with a Border Patrol patch, handcuffs and carrying a handgun.
The Marine veteran was also charged with falsely claiming in court documents that he had received two Purple Hearts.
Glembin was free without bail in those cases when he was arrested again Wednesday for disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping. Prosecutors said he grabbed a letter carrier’s arm and touched her thigh outside his New Berlin home.
The letter carrier later reported the next day finding a note in his mailbox addressed to her, saying he was divorced and “ready to rock baby.” Prosecutors also said Xanax pills were left in the mailbox with a note reading, “if you need em.”
In Waukesha County Circuit Court on Thursday, Glembin made his appearance in custody in orange jail attire following his arrest Wednesday.
“The court does note, though, this gentleman should know better. He’s out on bond on two felony cases, and he starts engaging in conduct that give rise to violation of the terms of his bond,” Court Commissioner Chris Bailey said.
Glembin’s bail was set at $500. He is expected to stand trial on the impersonation and fake Purple Heart cases later this year.
The letter carrier has since been reassigned to a new route to avoid Glembin’s house. If released, Glembin has been ordered to have no contact with her.
