Cube is rolling out a versatile and relatively affordable electric bike. The Cube Reaction Hybrid Performance 720 FE Wave 2027 hardtail pairs an extensive feature set with practical daily usability.

Cube is launching its 2027 lineup, which includes the Cube Reaction Hybrid Performance 720 FE Wave 2027, available now for €2,699. This makes it a comparatively budget-friendly option within Cube’s range. As a hardtail, the e-bike features front suspension without a rear shock. The “FE” designation indicates it comes fully equipped for daily commuting—with fenders, a rear rack, a kickstand, and integrated lighting, though it lacks a chain guard.

While hardtails excel on moderate off-road trails, fully equipped e-MTBs like this Reaction Hybrid are also ideal for commuting, making them a solid choice for riders seeking a single, do-it-all bicycle. Front suspension is handled by an SR Suntour X32 NLO coil fork offering 100 mm of travel and a lockout feature. Meanwhile, Schwalbe Smart Sam tires aim to balance off-road traction with smooth rolling resistance on pavement. Weighing in at 28 kg (61,7 lbs), the e-bike is powered by a mid-drive Bosch Performance Line motor delivering a modest 75 Nm of torque. It is paired with a generous 720 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery, which should minimize the need for frequent charging during daily commutes.

Shifting is handled by a 12-speed Shimano Deore drivetrain, while stopping power comes from Shimano BR-MT200 hydraulic disc brakes—both recognized as budget-optimized components. At this level, component differences primarily become relevant under high-stress riding conditions or when evaluating long-term durability.
