Martina BieneMartina BieneŠkoda Auto has announced changes to its Board of Management, with Martina Biene, currently Chair and Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Africa, set to take over as the Czech carmaker’s Board Member for Sales and Marketing from October 1, 2026.

Biene will succeed Martin Jahn, who will move to the Volkswagen brand as a Member of the Board of Management responsible for Sales, Marketing and After Sales in Wolfsburg, effective October 1. Subject to the necessary approvals, Jahn is also set to join the Škoda Auto Supervisory Board.

Škoda Auto CEO Klaus Zellmer credited Jahn with making a significant contribution to the company’s development and international growth during his tenure.

“Under his leadership, we managed to become the second best-selling brand in Europe, successfully introduced our battery electric models, built an even more customer-centric sales organization with our Škoda typical human touch, introduced a new corporate identity that reflects our ambitions, and increased our brand value,” Zellmer said.

Biene joined Volkswagen in 2001 and has held several positions across strategy, sales, product planning and marketing within the Volkswagen Group. Her previous roles include Area Sales Manager for Belgium and Luxembourg, Head of Product Planning for Germany, Head of Global Product Marketing and Head of the Volkswagen Brand in South Africa.

In August 2020, she was appointed Head of the Volkswagen Small and Compact Product Line. Since September 2022, she has served as Chair and Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Africa.

Jahn has been associated with the Volkswagen Group for two decades. Before joining the automotive group, he worked at CzechInvest and later served as its CEO. He also served as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs in the Czech Republic between 2004 and 2006.

Jahn joined Škoda Auto in 2006 as Board Member for Human Resources and subsequently held senior roles across the Volkswagen Group, including Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Rus, Managing Director of the Group’s international fleet business and sales and marketing leadership roles in China.

He rejoined Škoda Auto as Board Member for Sales and Marketing in March 2021.
