Aldi has been declared Australia’s most trusted supermarket for the third year in a row.
Roy Morgan revealed its Trusted Brand Award winners for 2026, with the German supermarket winning the top spot in the Supermarkets and Convenience Stores category.
The supermarket’s affordability was one of the biggest reasons it ranked on top.

Roy Morgan determines Australia’s most trusted brands using a Net Trust Score, which weighs positive trust against distrust.
More than 200 brands were included in the research, such as Coles, Woolworths and IGA, with input from 21,000 Aussies.
Jordan Lack, Aldi Australia’s chief commercial officer, said the accolade was a huge privilege.

Michele Levin, Roy Morgan’s CEO, said Aldi was also the second-highest-scoring business overall, beaten only by Bunnings.
The supermarket has been in the top three since 2023, which Michele said was “extraordinary” to be that consistent during a “period of challenging market conditions”.
Customers said they rated the brand because it had “no gimmicky schemes” and “do what they say”.
Other brands on the list included Bunnings, the most trusted brand, which took out the retail category.
Kmart came out on top in the Department and Discount Department Stores category, Cadbury won the food and beverage section, and Virgin Australia took out Travel and Tourism.
