In other places, the beginning of fall is signaled by a much-needed reprieve from the heat. But the same can’t always be said for the South. Our first days of fall aren’t always as easily defined by a dramatic drop in temperature or a sudden change in color, so we learn to embrace the season in other ways. I’ve learned the best way to celebrate the beginning of autumn is by shopping for seasonal treats at ALDI.
Maybe it’s simply because time and distance make the heart grow fonder, but many of ALDI’s seasonal products—as in, the ones you can only get a few months out of the year—have become my all-time favorites. Fall is an especially delicious time for people with a sweet tooth like me, thanks to an appropriate influx of pumpkin-flavored goodies. The freezer aisle was suspiciously empty on my last trip to ALDI, but thankfully, the German grocer did have a few pints left of what I hoped to find: the Sundae Shoppe Fall Gelato Pints.
Why I Love ALDI’s Sundae Shoppe Fall Gelato
Now, I love gelato, but I was reasonably skeptical when I first heard the words “fall-flavored gelato.” After all, it’s not every day you come across a pumpkin-flavored ice cream. But this is ALDI’s Sundae Shoppe we’re talking about (a recurring favorite amongst our editors), so I knew I had to try it.
ALDI’s fall gelato pints come in three flavors: Pumpkin Praline Pie, Apple Pie, and Cinnamon Coffee Cake. I wasn’t bold enough to try the Pumpkin Praline this go-round (maybe next time), so I went with the Cinnamon Coffee Cake. If you ask me, this fall-themed treat is a must-have on a hot autumn day. So, if you find yourself heading back to ALDI to check out their latest grocery items, do yourself a favor and make a quick pit stop in the frozen food section to grab a pint (or two!) of the Sundae Shoppe Fall Gelato Pints.
Fun Ways To Enjoy Sundae Shoppe Gelato At Home
As much as I love a good gelato on its own, it only feels right to enjoy this treat alongside something warm and cozy for fall. I recommend warming up some of ALDI’s Bake Shop Coffee Cake Bites (currently available in Pumpkin and Apple Cider flavors) and enjoying them with a generous scoop of this gelato.
