Starting to get bored with your morning coffee routine? ALDI is coming in to shake things up with two new Barissimo coffee creamer flavors, and for the first time, ALDI let its very own shoppers pick them out.
For many customers, the line of Barissimo creamers is an ALDI staple (coffee creamer purchases are up 35% YoY at ALDI), which is why the grocer thought it would be the perfect product for its first-ever flavor vote. ALDI also promised that, if the results for each social media platform were different, it would release two new coffee creamers instead of just one—and that’s exactly what happened.
The Winners of ALDI’s Coffee Creamer Competition
From Aug. 24 to Aug. 27, ALDI fans voted for their favorite coffee creamer flavor on Instagram and Facebook polls. There were eight total flavors to vote on. Between Blackberry Cobbler, Pistachio, Caramelized Banana, Honey Vanilla, Chocolate Cherry, Lavender Honey, Cookies and Cream, and Toasted Coconut, the competition was tough. But in the end, the winners were none other than Honey Vanilla and Caramelized Banana.
Honey Vanilla is an easy coffee creamer to pair with any beverage, whether you’re mixing up an iced latte or flavoring a warm cup of chai. It’s not too surprising that ALDI’s voters saw this creamer as a safe bet they’d want to use all year long.
While some commenters were surprised that Caramelized Banana was such a strong winner, it’s actually a popular flavor in the coffee world—even chains like Starbucks have recently dropped banana syrups and cold foams. Rather than tasting like plain banana, the caramelized element should add a sweeter, more brûléed flavor to your coffee.
Regardless of which creamer was your favorite, you’ve got some time to get used to the winners. ALDI announced that the fan-favorite coffee creamers will be joining stores in April 2027. Thankfully, you’ll also get a chance to try the Honey Vanilla coffee creamer early when it hits the ALDI Finds aisle on Nov. 25.
Customers Want Even More Flavors
While customers are impatiently awaiting the release of the new Barissimo coffee creamers, they’re expressing their excitement over the new flavors (and maybe some devastation for the loss of their favs). “banana + coffee is one of the greatest combos of all time,” commented one user on ALDI’s reveal post. “… can’t wait for the banana creamer,” added another.
Other customers are still holding out hope that ALDI will someday bring all eight flavors to shelves. “There is zero reason not to have all of them,” joked one Instagram commenter. “I really think they should all be available. They all sound delicious,” said another.
Perhaps there’s still hope that ALDI will take pity on the other six flavors and bring them to stores in the future. Who knows—maybe you need to keep your eyes on the brand’s social media to see if another opportunity to vote pops up someday.
