Mubi said it will outline its release plans in the near future.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCoward will have its world premiere in Competition at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/cannes-film-festival-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_cannes-film-festival-2_1\" data-tag=\"cannes-film-festival-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cannes Film Festival<\/a> later this month. Mubi\u2019s film sales group The Match Factory is handling world sales on the feature. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tDhont\u2019s follow-up to his Oscar-nominated Close (2022) is a period drama set in the trenches of World War I. Emmanuel Macchia and Valentin Campagne star as Pierre and Francis, two fresh-faced solders who meet on the front and, in a bid to try and escape the horrors of war, decide to put on a theatre show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCoward reunites Dhont with his Girl and Close co-writer Angelo Tijssens, and brother, producer Michiel Dhont. The film is produced by the Reunion, Lumen, Topkapi Films &amp; Versus (Opus) in<br \/>co-production with France 2 Cin\u00e9ma, VTM, RTBF, Proximus, BeTV &amp; Orange. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAhead of Cannes, Mubi also snatched up rights across multiple\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/international\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">international<\/a>\u00a0territories for\u00a0Competition title Hope, the new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/cannes-na-hong-jins-hope-starring-michael-fassbender-and-alicia-vikander-1236559805\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sci-fi action thriller from South Korean director Na Hong-Ji\u00a0<\/a>(The Wailing,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/how-yellow-sea-was-made-32542\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Yellow Sea<\/a>).
