{"id":11835,"date":"2026-05-10T14:09:45","date_gmt":"2026-05-10T14:09:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/11835\/"},"modified":"2026-05-10T14:09:45","modified_gmt":"2026-05-10T14:09:45","slug":"emmet-county-woman-charged-with-drunk-driving-after-repeat-arrests-9and10news-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/11835\/","title":{"rendered":"Emmet County woman charged with drunk driving after repeat arrests \u2013 9and10News.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/icon-512-dev.png\" alt=\"910 News\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"266\" class=\"must-be-sixteen-nine-aspect-ratio\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-7zszsu-0 ggPTvK body-paragraph\">EMMET COUNTY \u2014 A Levering woman has been charged with two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated following back-to-back arrests this week in Emmet County. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-7zszsu-0 ggPTvK body-paragraph\">Marti Berlin, 54, was taken into custody on May 6 and again on May 7 after troopers responded to separate incidents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-7zszsu-0 ggPTvK body-paragraph\">Berlin was arraigned today in the 90th District Court in Emmet County on both charges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-7zszsu-0 ggPTvK body-paragraph\">The second arrest on May 7 came after Berlin allegedly fled the scene of a traffic crash. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-7zszsu-0 ggPTvK body-paragraph\">Both incidents involved her being believed to be intoxicated while operating her vehicle for a second consecutive day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-7zszsu-0 ggPTvK body-paragraph\">On May 6, troopers from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post responded to a report of an erratic driver near US 31 Highway and Litzner Road in Carp Lake Township.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-7zszsu-0 ggPTvK body-paragraph\">Troopers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle violation. The preliminary investigation indicated Berlin was believed to be intoxicated. She was arrested and lodged at the Emmet County Jail without incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-7zszsu-0 ggPTvK body-paragraph\">The following day at 5 p.m. on May 7, troopers responded to US 31 near Ball Road in McKinley Township for a traffic crash where the at-fault driver fled. Troopers found the suspect vehicle at the Pellston General Store. A roadside investigation was conducted and Berlin was identified as the driver.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-7zszsu-0 ggPTvK body-paragraph\">She was believed to be intoxicated for the second day in a row and was arrested and lodged at the Emmet County Jail for Operating While Intoxicated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-7zszsu-0 ggPTvK body-paragraph\">\u201cIndividuals who choose to get behind the wheel after drinking pose a significant risk to public safety,\u201d said Lt. Ashley Miller. \u201cThese incidents emphasize the importance of responsible decision-making and the ongoing need for enforcement.
