{"id":11991,"date":"2026-05-11T09:19:50","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T09:19:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/11991\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T09:19:50","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T09:19:50","slug":"germany-sceptical-on-putins-suggestion-of-schroeder-role-in-ukraine-peace-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/11991\/","title":{"rendered":"Germany Sceptical on Putin&#8217;s Suggestion of Schroeder Role in Ukraine Peace Talks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BERLIN, May 10 (Reuters) &#8211; Germany dismissed \u2060on \u2060Sunday a suggestion from \u2060Russian President Vladimir Putin that former Chancellor \u200bGerhard Schroeder could coordinate talks with the European Union \u200cto secure a peace \u200cdeal in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>European Council President Antonio Costa said \u2060recently \u2060he believed there was &#8220;potential&#8221; for the EU to negotiate \u200bwith Russia, and to discuss the future of the security architecture of Europe.
